Student Research

Over the past several summers, as average of more than 40 undergraduates have participated in undergraduate research in the Chemistry Department. Summer researchers can be paid for research, either for a Fellowship (such as those listed below), directly from a grant authored by the lab's Principal Investigator, or for course credit. Chemistry majors interested in summer research opportunities are encouraged to contact the faculty mentor of their choice directly.

On occassion, the first group you approach will not have any openings; in such a case, we encourage you to contact additional faculty members. Getting involved in research early in your undergraduate career and staying so engaged can prove to be very adventageous when you apply for positions at graduation time.
