As part of our 2004-2006 REU program, we have significant funding to support a K-12 teacher of science, mathematics, or engineering for an immersion research experience during each summer. The research period should be a minimum of five weeks and can be up to 10 weeks with the salary pro-rated to the research time and at the participant's current salary level. If you are interested in participating, either alone or as a team with one of your students, please submit a letter of application directly to Professor Grabowski by email (joeg@pitt.edu) and attach a copy of your current resume. The letter should address the benefits of the RET experience for you, should identify three of our projects that you would be interested in working on (projects are available on the web site: http://www.chem.pitt.edu/ugrad/reu), should suggest preferred dates, and should include two references that can be contacted if necessary. Applications will be accepted beginning January 15, 2006 and will be reviewed on March 1 (the closing date for receipt of applications).
