Announcement of and application process for
Chemistry NSF-REU Leadership Group Travel Awards
Background:
The NSF-REU Leadership
Group announces that up to fifty travel reimbursements will be awarded to REU
students who will attend and present their research at the spring national
American Chemical Society meeting in
Eligibility:
All current
undergraduate students whose summer
research stipends were funded by NSF-REU grants are eligible to apply. Students who were funded by NSF-REU during
the summer of 2005, but who will have graduated at the time of the meeting, are
also eligible. Awardees MUST be listed as PRESENTERS of the research in the ACS
abstract in order to be eligible for this award. Preference will be given to students who have
not received a NSF-REU Leadership Group travel award in the past.
Application Process:
There are three components to the application process:
1.
Complete the information in the Excel
file which can be found at:

Send
this Excel file as an attachment to David Haines at dhaines@wellesley.edu.
2.
Forward to David Haines (via email) a
copy of the emailed confirmation from ACS that your abstract submission has
been received.
3.
Download and print the Word document

Announcement of the Chemistry REU Travel Awards:
The names of those who
have been awarded the travel stipends will be announced via email by December
1, 2005, and they will be posted on the NSF-REU Chemistry web site, http://chemreu.chem.indiana.edu/. Late applications will be funded if funds
are available. On the NSF-REU Chemistry
web site, a logo for NSF-REU supported presentations is given, and students
must display this logo prominently on their posters at the conference.
