undergraduate research: chem 1710 |>>

This is an elective course where a research project is carried out under the direction of a member of the chemistry faculty. Approximately four hours research per week per credit; usually no more than three credits per term. Not restricted to chemistry majors. Special permission for admission must be obtained in Room 234 Chemistry Building where a list of possible research projects is also available

National SMART Grants

Under the National SMART Grants program, up to $4,000 will be available to eligible students in the third and fourth years of college and pursuing a major in mathematics, physical sciences, life sciences, computer sciences, technology, engineering, or a critical-need foreign language (the complete listing is here).

Students must have a cumulative 3.0 college GPA. Federal guidelines provide students and institutions of higher education with information about which eligible postsecondary majors will qualify students for grants.
