Welcome to the University of Pittsburgh's Chemistry Department Website. The Department has a strong commitment to teaching, research, and service in all areas of the chemical sciences. Our objectives are to provide a first-rate academic training environment for undergraduate and graduate students and to conduct research at the forefront of chemical science. Outstanding education is achieved through a program that integrates creative courses, modern laboratory experiences and extensive extracurricular chemistry activities. First-class instrumentation and facilities, which are constantly growing and frequently renewed, enable members of the Department to pursue research at the forefront of all the disciplines of modern chemistry. Faculty members advance our science by active collaborations, both within the campus community and throughout the world.
