NMR Assistant

The NMR Assistant will assist the Director in the day-to-day operation of the Pitt NMR facility, which comprises six high field spectrometers. Maintenance responsibilities include regular shimming, optimization of experimental parameters, spectrometer testing, cryogen filling and software/hard disk upkeep. Service responsibilities include running NMR spectra for intra-and extra-departmental research groups. The Assistant will also support existing users of the NMR spectrometers and train new ones. A BS/BA degree with training in instrumental analysis is required. An MS degree and/or 1-2 years experience with NMR spectrometers is helpful, but not required.

The University of Pittsburgh Center for a Chemical Methodologies and Library Development (UPCMLD) invites applications for Staff Chemist. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of the UPCMLD Assistant Director and perform 'pilot plant' combinatorial library synthesis. Requires a B.S. or B.A. degree.
