POSTDOCTORAL POSITIONS IN BIOPHYSICAL AND BIOLOGICAL CHEMISTRY
Posted: 10/26/2006
Deadline: None provided
Contact: Professor Michael Trakselis
A Postdoctoral position is available for a highly motivated Ph.D. trained in either Chemistry or Biochemistry immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Michael Trakselis. The research will focus on the mechanisms and protein interactions of DNA replication proteins in archaea. Emphasis will be on the mechanistic and functional characterization of individual proteins alone and within protein complexes termed molecular machines. Helicases and polymerases involved in DNA replication and repair along with their accessory proteins will be the primary focus. There are also plenty of opportunities for research collaboration with others at the University of Pittsburgh including the Hillman Cancer Center, the School of Public Health, Department of Biological Sciences, and the Schools of Health Science in the areas of mass spectrometry, structural biology, and single molecule enzymology and would be encouraged. Send curriculum vitae to: Professor Michael Trakselis, University of Pittsburgh, 219 Parkman Ave, 801 Chevron, Pittsburgh, PA 15218 (e-mail: mtraksel@pitt.edu)
