The Department of Chemistry at the University of Pittsburgh provides outstanding undergraduate and graduate education.
Our undergraduate program challenges students with a unique combination of education, research and service. We are active in the American Chemical Society and our graduates have moved on to prestigious graduate programs in medicine, dentistry or research while others have found positions in diverse areas of industry and education.
Our graduate program consistently ranks within the top 50 chemistry departments as rated by US News & World Report. We pride ourselves on creating an environment that is singularly focused on the success of our individual students. Students who have left our program with a Ph.D. degree are now working in other top research institutions or have assumed leadership roles in a variety of industry settings.
