The Chemistry Department comes 3rd in the Pittsburgh Great Road Race

The Chemistry Department recently competed in the Pittsburgh Great Road Race on September 26th and finished a very commendable 3rd in their category. The race was 10km in length and the course started in Frick Park in Squirrel Hill and finished up in downtown Pittsburgh at the Point State Park.

In the photo above are the team members with the plaque they won. They are graduate students Jon Reeves (Wipf Group), Steve Bell (Meyer Group), Tim Peelen (Nelson Group), Professor Peter Wipf and his Post-Doc, Dr. Dave Mareska. Their times over the course were (minutes:seconds) 42:40, 43:18, 42:33, 53:55 and 40:06 respectively.
